Paraguay Talent: Albirroja U20s beat Venezuela and rule Arequipa

A second straight win for the Paraguay U20s side last night against Venezuela has secured the Copa Ciudad de Arequipa title with one game left to play. They recorded a 3-1 victory against the vinotinto thanks to a strong second half display. The first half finished even as Paraguay’s opener (an own goal following Diego Escobar’s freekick) was cancelled out by a strike from Josef Martinez. In the final 45 minutes Paraguay turned on the style with Maurito Caballero scoring from a spot kick before substitute Cecilio Dominguez grabbed his second in as many games to complete the victory.

They finish the competition, a warm up to the 2013 Sudamericano in Argentina this coming January,  against Colombia on Saturday before returning to Paraguay to rejoin their clubs.
