Sol de América vs Guaraní

Nacional and Libertad’s wins have heaped pressure on Guaraní who must win in Villa Elisa to return to the top. They face a Sol de América side that has only lost once at home this season on a crucial afternoon in the Clausura season. It promises to be a fascinating contest and another test of Guaraní’s ability to shake off the pressure and get a result.
The danzarín can’t make the Copa Sudamericana and they have garnered more than enough points under Ricardo Dabrowski this year to be safe from relegation next year. In many respects they have nothing to play for yet they’ve beaten both Nacional and Cerro Porteño in their previous two home games. Diego Vázquez and Alfredo Mazacotte have been particularly good and the reappearance of David Mendieta has also helped with their creativity.
Guaraní have struggled on their travels, unable to win the previous three matches, although their hard fought win over Cerro de Franco and last week’s victory on neutral ground against Olimpia will have raised moral. Importantly Diego Centurión has started to find the net again with two strikes in his previous two outings, something they’ll be relying on again today if they are to get a win.
