Copa Libertadores 2013: Cerro clueless and remain pointless

Cerro Porteño vs Santa Fe
Estadio La Olla, Asunción
(1-0) 1-2 – Fabbro; Perez (2)

Two penalties in the second half leave Cerro Porteño in the embarrassing situation of having zero points following three games, two of which have been at home. Both of the Colombians goals came vía the penalty spot, having seen the replays both were correctly given.

It had all started so well for Cerro who led at halftime having controlled possession and although they created little, a player of Jonathan Fabbro’s calibre needs only a half-chance to score. His goal was beautifully taken, bringing down Carlos Bonet’s chipped pass on his chest and volleying in on the half-turn.

But in the second half we saw a side totally disorganized having lost the ball, Santa Fe attacked against a collection of individuals rather than a team. Chiqui Arce maybe regretting what he has got himself into.
