General Díaz vs Cerro Porteño

TV: Unicanal (Paraguay)
Bottom of the league strugglers take on the title challengers hoping to go top with a win, surprisingly it is Cerro who are struggling while new-boys General Díaz fighting for the championship. Things went from bad to worse earlier in the week as the azulgrana suffered another deafeat to eliminate them from the Copa Libertadores with two games still left to play in the group.
Chiqui Arce is gambling on youth again as he seeks a winning formula that has evaded him to date, Cerro have suffered five straight defeats with Arce in charge for the last four. Teodoro Paredes continues in defence while his Paraguay U20s teammate Jorge Manuel Balbuena now joins him at senior level, he is expected to replace the out of sorts Sergio Vergara on the left-hand side. Angel Romero is also inlcuded in the starting line-up, he has been very impressive up front showing lots of movement, pace and good technique. Local reports suggest Arce will experiment with a 3-4-1-2 formation moving away from his preferred 4-4-2 style. The ‘1’ is of course Jonathan Fabbro the only player to have scored during this wretched run of defeats.
General Díaz are likely to stick true to their style, physical and comabtive to the point of dangerous play and in their only defeat this year they did pick up a red card. They present a really tough opponent for El Ciclón with their organised and cautious approach and will patiently wait for an opportunity on the break with one of Bareiro, Ferreira or Prieto likely to profit. The other source of a goal is a set play and Humberto Garcia must have been furious that last week they conceded a late equaliser from a corner as dead ball situations has been their strong point (at both ends of the pitch).
Best Bet:Under 2.5 goals for me, the game could go either way and Cerro have the quality but they are on rotten form and low on confidence
