Libertad vs General Díaz

TV: Unicanal (Paraguay)
A match between two sides that started well but have struggled for form recently, Libertad have one win in the last nine while General Díaz are without a victory in their previous five games. With the home side now out of the Copa Libertadores they are expected to field a strong side. Humberto Garcia is expected to chop and change with the Aguilas as he needs to get them back on the right track.
Ruben Israel will keep his faith in the usual suspects despite a temptation to make changes what with results not going Libertad’s way in the last two months. The Nuñez and Velazquez partnership that fired the Guma to the Clausura title have been struggling for goals this year, the previous two league games have been 0-0 draws. In fact they only average 1 goal per game in 2013, one of the lower averages in the league.
General Díaz fell to two 3-2 defeats in a row before last week’s draw against Cerro de Franco which marked the first game they have come back from a goal down to earn a point, previously they had lost everytime they conceded first. As we reach the halfway point of the season the newly-promoted team from Luque have lost the element of surprise which certainly caught out big guns like Olimpia and Guaraní early on. The midfield has been run by former Libertad player Cristian Sosa and Carlos Vera who must be at their very best today to try and win enough position to give them a fighting chance.
Best Bet: Under 2.5 goals seems an obvious choice between two teams that aren’t finding the net regularly
Libertad XI (probable): Rodrigo Muñoz; Jorge Moreira, Pedro Benítez, Ismael Benegas, Miguel Samudio; Nelson Romero, Pablo Guiñazú, Sergio Aquino, William Mendieta; José Ariel Nuñez, Pablo Velazquez
General Díaz XI (probable): Mario Santilli; Walter Cabrera, Lidio Benitez, Jorge Caceres, Marco Gamarra; Alfredo Cano, Cristian Sosa, Carlos Vera Segovia, José Svarcas; Daniel Ferreira, Marco Prieto
Sol de América vs Olimpia
Defensores del Chaco, Asunción

Olimpia, with thoughts on the next round of the Copa Libertadores, face Sol de América who have triumphed just once in their previous nine games. Both sides were on the wrong side of a five-goal thriller in their previous league match and there is likely to be goals again today.
Sol de América have a new man in charge, Gualberto Jara, who managed a win in his first match before that 3-2 reverse against Nacional. The main player to look out for is David Mendieta who scored a sumptuous goal last week and will provide most of the creativity in midfield along with Alfredo Mazacotte.
Ever Almeida has decided not to risk all of his big names today and the Uruguayans Martin Silva, Sebastian Ariosa and Juan Manuel Salgueiro could all be rested. Olimpia haven’t managed more than 2 goals in a game so far this league campaign and funnily enough are most likely to score 0 or 2 having only scored one goal in a game on two occassions. That suggests that they either get things right and click or they struggle to break teams down. Will be interesting to see what this team do this evening.
Best Bet: BTTS with Sol usually able to find the net and Olimpia not at full strength so not the obvious choice for the win
Sol XI (probable): Roberto Acosta; Adolfo Valdez, Bruno Valdez, Diego Arrua, Jose Duarte; Edgar Orzusa, Angel Enciso, Edgar Villasboa, Davide Mendieta, Alfredo Mazacotte; Julio Aguilar
Olimpia XI (probable): Victor Centurión; Alquilino Gimenez, Salustiano Candia, Enrique Meza; Alejandro Silva, Eduardo Aranda, Richard Ortiz, Richard Salinas; Alberto Contrera; Juan Carlos Ferreyra, Arnaldo Castorino
