Libertad vs Olimpia
Defensores del Chaco, Asunción
05/08/2013; 18:30 (23:30 BST)
TV: Unicanal (Paraguay)
The black and white derby is back with the country’s most successful side ever takes on the most successful side of the 21st century. Olimpia won their first game convincingly while Libertad drew with General Díaz but showed their class last week to turn around a one-goal deficit and win in Montevideo for only the second time in their history. Both side’s are expected to field their strongest available teams tonight.
Having won the away leg in Uruguay there is less pressure on Libertad this week in the Copa Sudamericana so they can afford to play a strong team tonight. Brian Montenegro was the game-changer in Montevideo and he is rewarded with a start, you can see his goal below. The probable line up with Vargas and Samudio in midfield should provide stability, both players can also play at full back. Osmar Molinas is set to face his former club.
Olimpia looked in good form against Carapeguá as they brushed them aside 3-1, today El Decano welcome back some of the cup stars with Juan Manuel Salgueiro likely to play behind Juan Carlos Ferreyra. Castorino keeps his place up front having scored last week. Sergio Orteman is part of the three-man midfield with Aranda and Pittoni. That trio should control possession and give Olimpia the best chance of winning the game.
Best Bet: I am plumping for the Olimpia win they haven’t lost this fixture for six games, however a back up bet of Over 2.5 goals should work with both sides looking for a positive result
Libertad XI (probable): Rodrigo Muñoz; Jorge Moreira, Pedro Benítez, Gustavo Gómez , Gustavo Mencia; Claudio Vargas, Sergio Aquino, Osmar Molinas, Miguel Samudio; Jorge Recalde, Brian Montenegro.
Olimpia XI (probable):
